Obituary of Ricky Lee Stockford

Stockford, Ricky Lee Mio, MI Ricky Lee Stockford, age 65, lost his battle with Cancer and entered eternal peace on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, Michigan while surrounded by family. Ricky was the youngest son of Earl and Norma Stockford. He was born February 14, 1951 in Saginaw, Michigan. Ricky was a natural born roofer, for over 40 years he could be found on any number of roof tops. Being self-employed for a number of years, he strived to be a hard working family man. He also worked for National Roofing, Local 149, out of Burton, Michigan. A man full of love, laughter, and hard work; he was always willing to offer a helping hand when needed. Ricky was an avid hunter and fisherman; he joined his friends and family every year for an annual fishing trip to Canada, a tradition he took part in for over 20 years. Mama Rick, as he was referred to by his nieces and nephews, was well known for his grill master barbecuing skills. Ricky is survived by his older brother Dan (MaryKay) Stockford and his four children: Mark Holbert (fiance Meghan Lane), Shawn Stockford (Jaymie Gunderman), Lindsy Stockford (Joe Diaz), and Kelsey Redman (DJ Redman); and his two grandsons Michael Jr. and Brennon Brueggeman. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends: Mike and Vicki Mikolajski, Linda and Marvin (Churnesky) Buffman, Doug and Cathy Loose and Rick Lamothe, plus many more dear friends. Ricky was preceded in death by his sister Randy Stockford (March 2016), brothers Dale Stockford (March 2015), and CJay Stockford (November 1999), parents Norma (Salmer) Stockford (July 2006) and Earl Stockford (July 2007), and ex-wife Jeanie Holbert ( May 2016). Memorial services will be held on Sunday June 26, 2016 at La Union Civica Mexicana 2715 Wadsworth Ave, Saginaw, Michigan 48601 from 11-6.
