Curtis, George F. Sanford, MI George F. Curtis, age 83, passed away on June 27, 2016 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center from medical complications. He was surrounded by his loving family that he cherished so much. George was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend to so many. George served 4 years in the navy starting at 18 years old. He retired from Chemical Leaman, formerly Coastal Tank Lines. Driving truck was his life-long passion. George will be remembered for his kind, generous spirit, huge warm smile and his frequent and hearty laugh. He will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his children; Glenda Stimpson of Jackson, MI, Gary (Heather) Curtis of Freeland, MI, Georgene (Duane) Ickes of Hemlock, MI, Shad LaFlure of Midland, MI, Justin Curtis (Samantha Clark) of Sanford, MI, Haley Curtis (Zachary Hughes) of Midland, MI; previous wives and close friends. Madelon Curtis and Connie Curtis; grandchildren, Patricia, John & Kristin Stimpson, Gary Marr, Krystal Slaybaugh, Emily Curtis, Benjamin & Nicholas Whittier, Nicholas Adams, Winnie McGraw, Caden Puff, Jace & Sawyer Curtis; several great- grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and many, many friends whom he deeply treasured. George was predeceased by his sister, Sally Pipes; brother, Loren D. Curtis; son, Edward LaFlure; son- in- law John Stimpson; his parents, grandparents, and many loving aunts and uncles.
