Obituary of Edith Jane Kennedy

Kennedy, Edith Jane Saginaw, MI Edith, age 65, surrounded by loved ones at her home, went to be with our Lord, July 24, 2016 after complications from ovarian cancer. Jane was born February 7, 1951 in Caro Michigan to the late Ward and Blanche Wilcox Jr. In 1967, Jane married Bob Jolin and they had a daughter, Stephanie Marie. Although they divorced, they remained good friends over the years. Jane married Jerry Kennedy on November 23, 1980 and they had a daughter, Malissa Marie. Over Jane's life she experienced many amazing adventures. She traveled, camped, spent nights at the casino, and took motorcycle rides with Jerry. She would at times, take the grandchildren along for the ride in the sidecar. The best adventures were the ones she took with the love she had for the Lord. We all agree that Jane's faith in the Lord was outstanding. It was her faith that pulled some of the family through rough times. Jane always had an open heart and an open door. Wherever Jane was, she was a light in the room. She could inspire you to do things that you never thought were possible, and always shared Godly advice when you needed it and would sternly tell you how much you screwed up with love in her heart. She opened her home many times for her family when it was needed. Jane accomplished much in her life, and was an amazing wife, loving mother, caring grandmother, supportive sister, and kind friend. Jane helped build Ministry Without Walls, a wonderful ministry with its first service in June 2015. Jane became an Elder and an Ordained Minister on June 24, 2015. Her long life was lived loving and praising the Lord. Surviving are her daughters, Stephanie and Malissa; grandchildren, Ricki, Sadie, Jerry Jr., Cierra, & Illana; brother & sister, Ward and Kitty Ann; brother in law, Mike (Kelly); sisters in law, Linda, Mary, Clis, & Sherry. She was predeceased by her husband Jerry; brothers, James, Lonny, William, and Gerald; and sister in law, Janice. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 1 PM at Ministry Without Walls, 3783 Mannion Rd., Saginaw, MI, with a luncheon to follow.
