Obituary of William Sidney Fisher

Fisher II, William Sidney Birch Run, MI William Sidney Fisher II "Bill", age 67, died peacefully at home on the evening of Thursday, September 22, 2016 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving wife Lydia Fisher (Dane) and other family members. Bill was born on July 8, 1949 in Saginaw, Michigan he was the third child and first son of Sidney Albert Fisher and Wanda Irene Fisher (Hale). Both have preceded him in death. He was a 1967 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army and returned from Vietnam in July of 1970. He and Lydia were married on December 10, 1971 and had three children Kelly Fisher of Grand Rapids, Michigan, Tracy (John) Parent of LaSalle, Michigan and William "Scott" Fisher of Ithaca, Michigan. He was also blessed with five grandchildren whom he adored Shawn Fisher, Collin, Sophia, Isabella Parent and Faith Fisher. For many years Bill was an avid volunteer for Youth night at the Frankenmuth Archery Club. He was also a member of the Honor Guard for the Birch Run VFW Post 7542. Bill loved to hunt and ride his motorcycle as well as many other hobbies including small engine repair, welding, woodworking "Cobbling" and archery. He loved having family celebrations at "Fisher Pond" He also spent a great deal of time in Albright Shores where he would spend his time enjoying the peace and quiet of the woods and having good times with friends from the Eagles Club. Bill is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, sisters Sharon Chamberlain, Diane (Tony) Palmreuter as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. His colorful humor and sarcastic wit provided great memories and laughter to those around him. Bill will be greatly missed. A memorial service and luncheon will be held at 12:00 on Sunday October 2, 2016 at the Birch Run VFW Post 7542, 11325 Dixie Hwy. Birch Run, MI. 48415.
