Obituary of Bonnie L. Giddings

Giddings, Bonnie Lou (Spencer) Vassar, Michigan Bonnie Lou Giddings (Spencer), age 61, of Vassar died Thursday, September 29th, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Bonnie was born in Orange County, California to Virgil and Jacqueline (Riedel) Spencer. Bonnie Spencer and Roy Giddings were united in marriage on April 20, 1974 in Caro, Michigan. Together they raised two daughters, Christina Best, and Bobbi Putman (husband Ray Putman). Bonnie was very involved in the lives of her two grandchildren, Jakob Putman and Jordyn Putman, and she was immensely proud to be their "nana". Bonnie also adored her Great Dane, Duchess, who remained a constant comfort and loyal protector. Throughout her life, Bonnie worked a variety of jobs that were mostly centered around helping other people. She was a supporter and member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Vassar for more than 20 years. Bonnie simply loved life and loved people. Any opportunity to be near family and friends and have fun, she took. Bonnie loved listening to old country music, dancing, and singing karaoke. She enjoyed making crafts, watching her shows, the Detroit Tigers, playing bingo, camping with her family, drinking a cold Bud, and eating a good meal. She didn't overthink life, she just enjoyed it. Her smile, her laugh, her hugs, her kisses, and her high-fives will be missed by so many. Others left to cherish her memory include her brothers, Paul and wife, Diane Spencer, Virgil and wife, Sim Spencer; her sisters, Nancy and husband, Daniel Cavanaugh, Virginia and husband, David Graichen, Brenda Spencer and boyfriend, Charles Parker; her mother-in-law, Betty Giddings; her brothers in law, Robert Giddings, Edward and wife, Dagmar Giddings, Rick and wife, Cathy Giddings, Rex and wife, Candi Giddings, Tom and wife, Linda Giddings; her sisters-in-law, Phyllis Enos and boyfriend, Jesse Garcia, Cindy and husband, John Adams and Nancy McDuffie; her many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and life-long friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roy Giddings who passed away on April 19, 2016, her sister, Vickie Spencer and her parents, Virgil and Jacqueline Spencer. A memorial service celebrating Bonnie's life will take place on Sunday, October 9, 2016 at 1pm at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 651 State Road Vassar, Michigan.
