Obituary of Alfred "Bill" Lauria

Lauria, Alfred W. "Bill" Auburn , MI After a very courageous fight with cancer, Alfred William "Bill" Lauria passed away at the age of 73, on October 10, 2016 at his home with his family at his side. He was born January 22, 1943 to the late Alfred and Bessie (Hildebrandt) Lauria. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry after 33.5 years of service. Bill married Naomi "Jo-Jo" Scherzer on August 1, 1986 and they made their home in Auburn. He enjoyed hunting deer and turkey, fishing, and would never turn down a "good" or "bad" card game. Everyone will miss his infectious laugh and sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Jo-Jo; their 10 children, DeAnne Comtois, Michael Comtois, Lisa (Jeff Steinpres) Comtois, Rhonda (Marlow) Klopf, Tammy (Gary) Hunter, Tony (Laura) Comtois, Bonnie "Weasel" (Jack Brozewski) Lauria, Gilbert "Chip" (Michelle) Horwath, Cherie Teschendorf, and Alfred James "Alfie" Lauria; 20 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson. Also surviving are his 3 brothers, Roland, Gerry, & Larry; a sister, Judy; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his son-in-law Jim Teschendorf and his sister Marilyn. The family would like to say a special thank you to both Jessie and Ashley from McLaren Hospice for taking such good care of Bill and to our great neighbors, Skip and Connie Barton for all of their kind acts of love. Cremation has taken place, and in accordance to Bill's wishes, Family and Friends will gather for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 1:30 PM at the Auburn Park Pavillion.
