Donovon, age 93, passed away peacefully from Earth to Heaven on November 25, 2016 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Pleasanton MI on December 6, 1922 to the late Clarence and Alma Hansen. On February 17, 1946 he married the love of his life, Maxine Milliron, with whom he would share 70 years of marriage. He worked as a master pipe-fitter at Pontiac Motor for 30 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of the Benzie County VFW, and was a lifetime member of the DAV. Although he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and building birdhouses, his real joy was found in helping others.
Donovon is survived by his wife Maxine; his daughter, Janie (David) LaRue; grandson, Anthony Donovon (Amy) Cole; great-grandson, Andrew Donovon Cole, all of Bay City MI; and his brother, Walter Hansen of Cadillac MI; many special nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Eden Bible Church, 7991 Worden Road, Beulah MI. The family will receive friends at church on Saturday December 17, 2016 from 1 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, those considering an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Eden Bible Church, the DAV, or the charity of the donor's choice.
