Mrs. Joan Howarth, age 89, died on Friday December 2, 2016. Joan was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 19, 1927 to the late Jack and Edith (Blachford) Green. Joan enjoyed working as the director of the Gladwin Chamber of Commerce for many years. She was the first woman member of the Gladwin Rotary. Mrs. Howarth is survived by her 2 daughters; Denise (David) Brewer and Karen Tuomey and Greg Bray. Also surviving are 5 granddaughters and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Thomas Howarth MD who also served the Gladwin Community for many years. A private memorial service will take place in early summer of 2017.
