Obituary of Dorothy M. Fries

Fries, Dorothy M. New Lothrop, Michigan Dorothy Mae Fries (Kutchin) of New Lothrop, quietly passed to her heavenly home Monday afternoon surrounded by a few family and friends softly singing Amazing Grace. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert E. (Bob) Fries, her son Randall C. Fries, daughter Rachelle Fries, and grandson Tracey Baryo. Surviving are her son Robert L. Fries (Rita), daughter Rhonda M. Baryo (Lee Bullion), and sons Ryan E. Fries (Melinda) and Russell S. Fries (Susan). She is also survived by five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Dorothy was born and raised in Pigeon, Mich. where she graduated from high school. She would move to Flint to pursue a nursing career at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. While there, she met her husband Bob and together they would settle in Flint until 1974 when they moved to New Lothrop. Dorothy and Bob volunteered for several years at both C&M Ambulance and Twin Township Ambulance. She also worked as a dispatcher for the Michigan State Police Flint Post as well as Genesee County Central Dispatch. Until just recently, she served at the Flushing Christian Outreach Center. She is remembered as an unwavering woman of God, a wonderful and loving wife and mother, a genuine friend, and someone who found joy in being of help to others. A memorial service will be held in her honor Saturday, January 14 at 4pm at Mayfair Bible Church, 5339 W. Pierson Rd., Flushing, MI. Family will be present to receive family and friends from 3pm till time of service. Service will be officiated by Pastor Dean Stewart.
