Obituary of Joann Grace Fletcher
Fletcher, Joann Grace
Bad Axe, Michigan
Joann Grace Fletcher, passed away on February 23, 2017 at home in Verona Township with care from Heartland Hospice Services. Joann was born on June 17, 1949 in Detroit to the late Ellen Grace (Aldenbrand) Huber and Alvin William Huber. Joann now joins her brothers William R. and Allen R. with closest brother Godfrey (Gus) Huber to carry the family name. Joann owned the Crossroads Restaurant in Cass City, for many years, her only regret in retiring was not seeing her loyal patrons anymore that were like family. Joann was a Michigan State University master gardener graduate. J.R.'s Greenhouse and Christmas Tree Farm came with her love of plants. Christmas was her favorite holiday and fall wreaths making equipment, looking for greens and making ribbon bows. Joann enjoyed deer hunting (sitting quietly in the woods) and enjoyed playing on a golf league. She married Rick Fletcher and together they used trees from her Bay City Forestville Road property to build their home in Verona Township. To her nieces Barbara, Dawn and Sheryl you know you were loved. To her closest friend Cathy Griggs, I'm sorry for you loss. There will be a celebration of Joann's Life at the Franklin Inn of Bad Axe, Michigan on March 18, 2017 from 1:00 to 5:00 P.M. with a service at 2:00 P.M. followed by lunch and beer. No flowers or sorrow. Having no children of her own, her wish was that donations go toward her grandkids education. Thank you for the cards, calls, love and support this past year.
