Charlene also devoted several years of service to the Detroit and Mackinac Railroad/Straits Corporation. Charlene had so many passions. Besides the unconditional love she felt for her family and friends, she LOVED her garden and her (well fed) beautiful birds. The Cardinals and Woodpeckers were amongst her many favorites. The sky glowed very often from her backyard campfires that she so proudly hosted and tended with her family. She and Jim shared a great interest in lighthouses and enjoyed several trips throughout Michigan to experience and collect many light house memories. The family would like to like to thank her doctor and special friend, Dr. Devendra Sharma and staff, Dr. David Urbanski & Donna and Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care (Angie, Heather and Jessica as well as many others) for the special care given during her journey. A sincere and heartfelt thank you to everyone for the kind and personal compassion given to not only our loved one, but to our family during this difficult time. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private prayer service will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI where she will join her Husband, Jim.
