Obituary of Clarence L. Kohler

Kohler, Clarence Lee Saginaw, Michigan Clarence Lee Kohler, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away July 9, 2017 at the age of 85. He was born May 30, 1932 in Battle Creek Michigan to the late Harold and Mildred Kohler. He married Marilyn Garlock on March 5, 1955 in Carson City Michigan. Clarence was a passionate fisherman and loved the outdoors. He owned the United Rent All store in Kalamazoo, Michigan from 1967 to 1986. Clarence and Marilyn retired to Florida in 1990 where he was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Homosassa. Clarence loved Jesus Christ and his greatest joy was helping others and serving as a trustee and a prayer leader at church. Clarence and Marilyn moved to Saginaw in 2007 where he was a member of Nelson United Methodist Church. Clarence is survived by his wife Marilyn (Garlock) Kohler, three sons, Garry, Daryl, and Hal all of Kalamazoo, Michigan; a daughter, Carol (Jim) Roberts of Bay City, Michigan; six grandchildren, 6 great- grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Norm (Melva) Kohler of Vicksburg and Ron (Judy) Kohler of Richland; a sister, Donna Crouch of Schoolcraft; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dayle and Nancy Garlock of Atlanta, Michigan; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM on July 22, 2017 at Nelson United Methodist Church, 5950 S. Hemlock Rd, Hemlock Michigan. A gathering of family and friends will start at 1PM at church prior to the service. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider The Saginaw Rescue Mission or Nelson United Methodist Church.
