Obituary of Bernard Kubik

Kubik, Bernard "Bert" Deckerville, Michigan Bernard "Bert" Kubik, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away on August 1, 2017 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer. Bert was born on October 21, 1943 to the late John and Genevieve Kubik. He is survived by his five children: Lena (Todd) Loeffler of Williamston, MI; David (Stacey) Kubik of Melbourne, FL; Steven Kubik of Evans, GA; Mary (Lee) Fritz of Prattville, AL; and William (Christina) Kubik of Gloucester, VA. He was the proud grandpa to 12 grandchildren: Kayla (Joe) Shaffer, David "DJ" Kubik, II, Derek Traster, Stasha (Brett) Ashbrook, Kristina Loeffler, Austin Kubik, Alexandra Cook, Samantha Loeffler, Darian Traster, William Kubik, Elisabeth Kubik, and Carolynne Kubik. He was also a proud great-grandpa to 3 great-grandchildren (Evan, Joshua, and Dylan). He is also survived and loved by numerous nieces and nephews (and great nieces and great nephews). He was a beloved brother to John Kubik, Theresa (Norman) Gladych, Daniel Kubik, Phyllis Youngs, Joseph (Maxine) Kubik, JoAnne (John) Bery, and Patricia (Larry) Meade. He was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Marie (Teri) Titcombe. Bert was a Vietnam War Veteran who honorably served his country as a medic in the Air Force. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and sharing stories of days gone by. His children would like to extend a special thank you to friends, family, and caregivers who provided loving care and support, especially his granddaughter, Darian Traster and the staff at MediLodge in Frankenmuth and Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care in Bay City.
