I remember Uncle Bob staying with us for a short time at some point when in the service. He had a collection or 78 records, one of them being "In the Mood". Still to this day, my all time favorite song. Sorry to hear about his passing. I'm glad you both had so many wonderful years and memories together.
Love, Joey

I am very sorry to learn of Bob's passing.
I'll always remember watching and listening to Bob playing his trombone in the Concert Band.

Even though I didn't see Uncle Bob all that often, his passing will leave a big hole in my life. He was the only connection to a grandmother (Onalee) I never got to meet. I loved his stories and his great zeal for life. He will surely be missed.

I will always remember Bob playing trombone, humming a tune at all times (esp. when in the kitchen prepping or washing dishes!), engaging a room with his stories and jokes, his deep chuckle, and his much deeper love for Betty and his family. <3

It was an honor to share a very large part of my life with Bob. To this day, I still cannot figure out how we could go on a very lengthy car trip from state to state, and when he grew tired, he simply pulled the car to the nearest parking lot, took a quick twenty minute nap, and was ready to continue our trip. Always getting us to our destination safely. He was the one that we always went to for wisdom and advice. He was a very loving and fun Papa to his Grandchildren. Lorraine Miller

I've been honored to know Bob for more than 40 years ... and consider it a great privilege to have been entrusted with his care in the final season of his earthly life. I have fond memories of cheering on soccer and hockey teams he coached, watching him cradle my baby daughter (er, expertly hold her like a squishy football), being directed by him in the church choir, serving on committees and community projects together ... sharing a love of jazz, a cold Boston lager and slightly off-color jokes ... I'll miss his silly faces, his laugh and his be-bopping while celebrating his life.

My one greatest recent memory of my Grandpa (Papa) was the trip to Florida four years ago. It was just me and him flying down to see my aunt, uncle and youngest cousins. I think it might have been his last vacation, actually. It felt good knowing I could care for him but at the same time, have so much fun with him and the family.

Music, his love of music. Standing proudly as "Anchors Aweigh" was played. His love for Betty, and all of his family. God's grace and peace be with all of us who loved him.
