Obituary of Irene A. Dubuis

Dubuis, Irene A. Pinckney, MI (Formerly of Linwood MI) Irene ended her journey peacefully on October 19, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born March 15, 1928 to the late Frank and Mary (Suida) Wazbinski. She married Emery E. Dubuis on October 1, 1949, and he predeceased her in 1982. Irene was a lifelong member of St. Anne Catholic Church in Linwood and an area resident. She was also a lifetime member of the Daughters of Isabella and served as Regent and entertainment director for St. Gerard Circle for several years. In addition, she was an active member and volunteer for the ARC (Association of Handicapped Citizens) of Bay County, working to promote the rights and prosperity of handicapped citizens and supporting the Special Olympics. She was a lifetime member of the League of Catholic Women and Our Lady of the Snows. She had many interests and especially enjoyed her scriptural studies. Irene was a devoted mother to all, but especially to her special needs son, Denny whom she cared for well into her 80's. She is survived by six children, Diane (John) Ford, Darlyne Irwin, Denise Campbell, Emery (Lisa) Dubuis III, Dennis Dubuis, Danielle (Ron) Nichols; nine grandchildren, Travis Irwin, Katherine Ford, Sean Campbell, Emery Dubuis IV, Jade and Callie Dubuis, Tyler and Jeremy Nichols; and great granddaughters Alahna Ayotte and Adelynn Dubuis. Also surviving are several special nieces, nephews and cousins; and brothers in law Vic Szafranski and Pete Niedzielski. Irene was predeceased by her son Joseph in 1954; grandson, Sonny Campbell in 2017; son in law, Rob Campbell; her siblings, Fran Szafranski, Ted and Pat Wazbinski, Bob and Joyce Wazbinski, Anne Niedzielski; and brothers and sisters in-law, Vivian Dubuis, Jeanne (Loren) Hemerline, Thelma (Ed) Kelly, Howard Dubuis (Lorraine Dubuis and Ida Dubuis), Marlene (Roy) Slosser. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Do-All Inc of Bay City or Do-Art Studio of Bay City. The family would like to extend a special thank you to both her friends at Bay Manor and her caregivers from Great Lakes Hospice of Livingston County. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday October 27, 2017 at 11 AM at Prince of Peace Parish / St. Anne Catholic Church, 315 W. Center St., Linwood MI. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service beginning at 10 AM.
