Obituary of Richard Thomas Lawrence
Richard Thomas Lawrence, age 70, of Bay City, our independent and loyal uncle and brother, was born into Eternal Life in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 11, 2018 at McLaren Bay Region.
Born on February 16, 1947, the son of Alex and Dolores (Ciesielski) Lawrence, Richard was a lifelong resident of Bay City.
In his early years, Richard enjoyed exploring the outdoors and developed a fondness for nature. Richard and his older sister, Darlene, developed a strong bond after their father passed away when the two were very young. Richard attended Bay City Public Schools during his youth and graduated from Handy High School in 1964.
Richard retired from Dow Chemical in Midland after 20+ years of dedicated service. He enjoyed reading war novels and history books, and rooting for his beloved Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. He loved spending as much time as he could outdoors, hunting and fishing with his nephews, cousins and friends.
He will forever be remembered and missed by his niece, Cheryl Goodwin, and nephew, Kevin Goodwin. Richard is also survived by his brother-in-law, Robert Goodwin and loyal friends Gregg and Janet Doan. In addition to his parents, Richard was welcomed home to heaven by his beloved sister, Darlene Goodwin, nephew, Brian Goodwin and stepfather, Conrad "Cooney" Brozewski.
