Obituary of Duane Robert Roux

Duane Robert Roux went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Sunday, February 4, 2018. He was born in Breckenridge, Michigan on May 14, 1943, to the late Joseph and Beulah (Root) Roux. Duane graduated from St. Charles High School and Cornerstone University (formerly Grand Rapids Baptist Bible College). After graduation he pastored a church in Kaleva, MI. He and his family worked with several other families and Galilean Missionary Tad Jameson to establish Trinity Baptist Church in St. Charles, MI. Duane was also on the deacon board in Chesaning at Village Baptist Church where he helped as missionary builders constructed a new building for them. He was retired from both General Motors Central Foundry and Grey Iron after 37 years of service. Duane is survived by his wife of almost 49 years Karen (Waggoner) Roux and two daughters, Nicole (Jeffery) Mayhew of Pulaski, TN and Andrea (Justin) Bamberg of Hemlock, MI. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren; Claudia Mayhew, Danielle Mayhew, Georgia Mayhew, Nathaniel Mayhew, Gabriel Mayhew, and Jaela Fairris. He was predeceased by his brothers and sister in law, Jule Roux and George Albert Roux, and Cynthia Roux. Duane has been cremated and will be interred in Brant Township Cemetery at a later date. A celebration of his life and informal memorial service will be held at Hopevale Church on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 6:00 PM, with Pastor Jerry Larkin officiating. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service beginning at 5:30 P.M. Dinner will be served immediately after the service.
