Obituary of Patricia "Patti" J. Leaym-Tonkavich

Leaym-Tonkavich, Patricia (Patti) Jean Auburn, MI Patricia "Patti" Jean Leaym-Tonkavich died February 17, 2018 at home with the comfort and care of the Mid-Michigan Home Hospice Team. She was born October 26, 1947 in Saginaw Michigan to Chester Virginski and Mary Gunter. A spectacular birth of what was to become a most pleasant woman. After graduating from Saginaw High School, she went to work for Wickes Lumber as a buyer, then St. Mary's Hospital and Mid-Michigan Medical Center as a Secretary and Administrative Assistant, offering solid committed dedication. Her love of life always left the gentle reflection of being pleasant, attractive, and greeting everyone with a generous smile and light wave of her delicate hand. She loved her twins Timothy Michael Leaym and Tine Marie Roach (Leaym), and their spouses Dana and John; her husband Robert's daughter Kathleen Corin Premo (Tonkavich) and her husband Skye; and their children, her grandchildren, Gabriel Michael and Aurora Elizabeth. Her love for her sister Julie Heinrich (Virginski) was very strong and special. They had a special bond and always tried to find a way to spend time together and frequently would spend memorable moments together ventured by Patti's, Robert. She also had step sisters and brothers. Her love for them all never wavered and was always very strong and non-committed. She loved the outdoors, from simple gardening around the house with her flowers, trees, and bushes to traversing through Michigan in search of flowing water from the lakes, rivers & streams. Always up to the challenge of taking a hike through wooded trails that lead to new adventures and spotting wildlife. Patti and her husband loved to explore quaint downtowns from Holland to Traverse City to Petoskey to Marquette and always back to Leland, home of Fish-village, her favorite spot. They loved shopping and always found something to bring back home. She battled an aggressive lung cancer with the same grace as her personality, never ever complaining. Always giving the next spot to someone else. Her courage never stopped, but she never sought attention for herself. She suppressed the pain with smiles and greetings of "I'm Doing Fine, Today", which would confuse the "Bageebas" out of the medical support team. She never missed the attention to her responsibilities. She will be missed by all who knew her, loved her, and were greeted with that pleasantness. We will miss you My Love, My Patti.
