Obituary of Jack W. Phillips

Mr. Jack Walter Phillips, age 90 years, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2018. He was born in Bay City on July 19, 1927 to the late Jack and Lily (Bohn) Phillips. Jack was a WWII veteran serving in the South Pacific, a 34th degree Mason, and a member of Grace United Methodist Church-West. Jack retired from Saginaw Steering Gear in 1982 as a Senior Expediter of Test Engineering. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and a good scotch. On October 18, 1947, he married Virginia Phillips who preceded him in death in 2015. Jack leaves 3 sons: Michael (Nancy, deceased) Phillips, Jack (John) Phillips, Jr. and Paul Phillips; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister in-law, Sue (Gary) Doyen and their 3 children; 2 nieces, Jean Ann Phillips and Joan (Fred) Eurich. The family wishes to offer a "special thanks to the staff of Caretel Inns of Tri City for the compassionate care given to Jack." At the request of Mr. Phillips, cremation has taken place. A Luncheon will be held Wednesday March 21, 2018 at 12 noon at Grace United Methodist Church-West, 4267 Two Mile Road, Bay City, Michigan 48706.
