We were classmates, CHS 1963. Chuck came to our reunions and seemed to enjoy himself as much as we enjoyed visiting with him. This year would be our 55th. He will be missed. My sympathies to his family.

Hi Chris... I remember Dad telling me about those memories. I had forgotten them... thank you for reminding me of them and bringing back many more. He had a wonderful childhood both on McKinley and at the beach.

Dearest Mickie and family,
I was saddened beyond belief when I heard about Chuck's illness and passing. You have been in my prayers and those of my new church choir in Marion, VA. Chuck and Mickie have always been so kind, friendly, and welcoming to everyone and especially to me. You will live in my heart forever, Chuck!
Love you, Mickie, with all my heart!

In about 1952 my family moved to McKinley Ave., next door to the Leibrand family, and Chuck was one of my earliest friends. In those days we were "free range kids," wandering around the neighborhood. After dinner we'd holler out for each other and play outdoors until dark or later--until the parents called out for us. At one point Chuck's dad, Karl, ran a wire from my bedroom to Chuck's to connect a battery-powered telephone. When he got older and could drive, he had a 1960 Ford for getting to work. He had rearranged the letters on the trunk to read "DORF." All of the memories are good. It's so sad to read of his passing.
