Obituary of Lila "Bonnie" Larkin
Larkin, Lila Y. "Bonnie"
Saginaw, MI
Lila Y. "Bonnie" Hilderbrant Larkin of Saginaw, was called home to our Lord on Thursday April 5, 2018. She was born January 20, 1937 to the late John and Iva (Perry) Hilderbrant. She married Melody Larkin February 15, 1952 and they shared 53 years together.
Lila was a waitress for many years, worked at Sun Valley Nursing Home as a CNA, and later as a private homecare provider. Lila was totally dedicated to her husband and children in all aspects of their life. She will be remembered for her smile, warmth, and her love for her family and all of her grandchildren. She made a difference in their lives. Her family's wish is that Lila's journey will take her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing and laughing, which she enjoyed doing. Lila also enjoyed spending time with her large family, bargain shopping, watching old movies and delivering humorous one liners. Her only regret is that she never became a pole dancer.
Lila is survived by five children, Iva (William) Whisman of Saginaw, Hilary (Dennis) Lemmer of Saginaw, Nat Q. Larkin of Pennsylvania, William (Candance) Larkin of St. Charles, Sharlene (David) Hamilton of St. Charles; nineteen grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Melody Larkin on October 24, 2005 and her great-grandson T.J. Larkin on April 2, 2010.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Independence Village Senior Living and to the Covenant Hospice nurses for the loving and compassionate care given to their mother. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Michigan Avenue Baptist Church, 203 S. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Jerry Larkin will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2PM – 3 PM. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to Michigan Avenue Baptist Church or Covenant Hospice.
