Obituary of Carol Jean (Strong) Weishuhn

Carol Jean (Strong) Weishuhn was born in Detroit, Christmas Day, 1937, to Florence R. (Dubber) Strong and Edward R. Strong, the third of four children. She attended Ferndale High School and graduated in 1955. After high school, she took a job as a bank teller until she met her future husband Robert J. Weishuhn. Carol and Bob married on March 14, 1959. They settled in Prescott, Michigan where they started the family farm and together raised 6 children and 2 stepchildren. After Bob retired from farming, Carol took a job at Chipps & Nichols IGA working there for over 30 years in various positions. Carol enjoyed music, reading, playing card and board games and going to lunch every Friday with friends Sandy, Nancy and Gail. Carol is survived by 5 children, Robert (Wendy) Weishuhn of West Branch, MI, Tracy (Mike) Thompson of Jacksonville, FL, Marty Weishuhn (Susan Colvin) of Skidway Lake, MI, Douglas (Anissa) Weishuhn of South Bend, IN, Deborah (Ronald) Bell of Omer, MI; 2 stepchildren, Daryl Weishuhn (Julia Bellor) of Whittemore, MI, and Sandra (Robert) Barwick of Cairo, GA.; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; brothers, Edward Strong of Birmingham, AL, and Robert (Donna) Strong of San Diego, CA; and special family friend Janet Wolf. Carol was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Edward C. Weishuhn; brother James (Joyce) Strong; sister-in-law, Pearl Strong; grandson, Edward R. Weishuhn; and great granddaughter, and Brooke Listeman. Per Carol's wishes cremation has taken place.
