Obituary of Kaethe Sturm

Kaethe Sturm, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at her home in Blanchard, Michigan on July 13, 2018. She was born June 10, 1925 in Bethausen Romania to the late Teresia and Franz Schneider. During World War II, Kaethe worked for 3 years on a farm in France as a housekeeper. She remained on the farm until her marriage to Wolfgang Sturm. Shortly after their marriage, Kaethe and Wolfgang headed to Plauen where, John and Kaethe, the first children of their new found love were born. In 1952, after she and her family escaped from Plauen to Aach Hegau, two more children, Uwe and Karen were born. After a period of time, the family moved to the United States where Kaethe and her husband completed their family with their last two children, Heidi and Frantz. They opened a bakery in Harper Woods, Michigan called Little Joe's Pastry Shop. Many years later, in 1972, they settled in Blanchard, Michigan to live out the remainder of their lives. Kaethe was blessed with six children, Joachim, Kaethe, Uwe (Inge), Karin (Mike), Heidi and Frantz (Leisa); 11 grandchildren, Richard (Amber), Frantz, Elisha, Michael (Amanda), Rachael (Brad), Jesika, Matthew, Andrea (John), Barry, Shannon and Amber; 17 great-grandchildren, Jasmyn, Landyn, Teghyn, Weston, Aria, Atticus, Gracie, Gavin, Keirsten, Brooklin, Amanda, Joshua, Taylor, Keegan, Brian, Kristina and Hunter.
