He is survived by his brother Lawrence M. Maloney, children Kathleen Therese (Maloney) Trevino, Terrence Patrick Maloney Jr, and LTC (Ret) Daniel M. Maloney. Six grandchildren Lillian Alice Maloney, Brian Edward Maloney, Christian Michael Maloney, Rosemarian Genevieve Maloney, Fiona Theresita Trevino and Caitlin Maria Trevino and his daughter-in-law Valerie Ann (Hartmann) Maloney. He grew up in the College Hill neighborhood of Wichita with his brothers James O. Maloney, Gerald B. Maloney, Lawrence M. Maloney and his sister Janet (Maloney) Schaefer. He graduated from Wichita East High School in 1951 and from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service Washington D.C. with a Bachelor of Science in Foreign Service and International Relations. Terrence married Mary Karin McDonald of Wichita on November 29, 1958. In addition to being a sales and marketing executive for Universal Motor Oils, Inc. the company his father Carl founded, Terrence owned several Quick Print stores in California. Terry loved the outdoors. He and his brother Jerry often hunted quail in eastern Kansas and fished at Toledo Bend Reservoir. As a true renaissance man, Terry could easily transition from the outdoors to attending the opera or the annual Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, OR. He travelled throughout the United States in his camper, was a licensed VFR pilot and lived for 2 years on his sailboat, The Pelican. The quintessential Irishman he was gregarious and outgoing had more friends than he could count and enjoyed life while still clinging to his Catholic faith and belief in a life after his time on earth. He spent his retirement years in Texas where he loved touring and setting up his camper in the Texas Hill Country and Big Bend National Park. He eventually settled in San Marcos before moving to Midland, Michigan to be close to family. Terry volunteered with the Saint Vincent De Paul Society, Saint John's Catholic Church, San Marcos, TX and Meals on Wheels. In 2016, Terry became a parishioner of Saint Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church in Midland, MI. He doted on his grandchildren and loved nothing more than being in their company. Terry meant so much to his family and friends and he will be missed but remembered fondly. Rosary and Funeral Mass will be Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at 2 PM at Saint Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church, 207 Ashman Street, Midland, MI. Inurnment will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at 11 AM at Calvary Cemetery, 610 S. Vassar in Wichita, KS.
