Obituary of Alvin Oscar Reinert
Alvin Oscar Reinert went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, September 15, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Alvin was born October 10, 1931 in Frankentrost, MI to the late Henry and Matilda (Trump) Reinert. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Frankentrost. He married Donna June Tigner February 23, 1952 by Pastor Mueller of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He was an active member at St. Martin's Lutheran Church of Birch Run, MI.
He very much enjoyed his time playing baseball for Frankentrost, the New York Giants' minor league system and the Saginaw Bears. Alvin spent 65 years as a highly distinguished representative of the Scott and Fetzer Company. He enjoyed watching baseball, bowling, playing cards, golfing, fishing and hunting with his family. Alvin was a chairman on many community organizations, was an avid volunteer, and promoted many fundraisers.
He is survived by his wife; Donna June (Tigner) Reinert; 2 daughters, Marcia Ann (Jerry) Fuller and Sheila Renee Smith; a son, Robert Alvin (Sherri) Reinert; sister, Irma (Reinert) Reif; 10 grandchildren, Tania (John) Dennis, Tabitha (Gerard) Liboiron, Aaron (Kala) Smith, Ashley Smith, Ken (Catherine) Weber, Jeremy (Crystal) Reinert, Michael Weber, Nicole (Dante) Isaac, Jacob Reinert, and Ravi Vora; 11 great grandchildren, Ethan, Sean, & Maddie Dennis, Gerry, Maxwell, & Calvin Liboiron, Asher Smith, Lucas & Nathaniel Reinert, Jacob & Emily Reinert; and many nieces and nephews. Alvin was preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Audrey Reinert and 6 siblings, Oswald Reinert, Edna Sohn-Haas, Arnold Reinert, Elmer Reinert, Lorine Pray-Cooper, and Evelyn Filczkowski.
Per his wishes, cremation will take place and memorial arrangements will be made at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Martin's Lutheran Church or to a wildlife conservation organization of your choice.
