Obituary of Imelda Dumlao Morrison

May 10, 1972 - September 19, 2018 We lost our beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend, Imelda, on September 19, 2018 at the age of 46. She lost her long battle with colon cancer at home. She fought hard and was such a ball of positivity for all around her. She grew up in Midland, MI, graduating from Midland High School and continuing her education and softball career at Delta College. She was a force on the softball field, known for her strength and cannon of an arm. She continued to play into adulthood until her diagnosis. She found her niche when she started in the restaurant industry after college. She eventually found her way back home to Midland and to Big E's Sports Grill. She worked her way up to Manager, after experiencing life around the state in the industry. Meeting and loving many of the people she met along the way. She took solace in music, taking up the ukulele after she was diagnosed. She really enjoyed learning and playing. When she wasn't strumming along you could often hear Holly Williams or Carolina on My Mind by James Taylor surrounding her space. She is survived by her parents, Dennis and Monette Morrison; sister, Christine and Jody Morrison, brother, Michael and Melissa Morrison; niece, Mya Morrison; many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and dear Friends. She was an inspiration to so many that crossed her path and will be missed immensely. She always enjoyed life and was never afraid of a good adventure. She loved being in the kitchen cooking or snuggling with a good movie. She yearned to get back to South Carolina where she could dip her toes in the sand and smell the salt in the air. Now she can. May her smile now brighten our morning sun and her calm hug us at night. The family would like to thank Dr. Le and her staff, Pardee Cancer Services, Big E's Sports Grill, Suburban Inns, and the Beukema Family for all the support, compassion, and care for Imelda. She always felt special and loved in all of your hands. And a special thank you to all of you that rallied with and for her. A memorial will be held Saturday, September 29, 2018 from 5-9pm at Big E's Sports Grill Banquet Room in Midland, MI.
