Obituary of Herbert L. Lelo
Herbert L. Lelo, age 75, lost his long battle with cancer on October 10, 2018, at his home with family by his side in Saginaw, MI.
Herb is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Debby Lelo; his children, Kelley Kritzman (Kevin), Timothy Wobio, Jason Wobio (Krista); his brothers, Wally Lelo (Roxanne), Jim Lelo (Regina); his special aunt, Midge Schmidt; his nephews, Tony Lelo (Stephanie), Greg Lelo (Cathy); his niece, Stephanie Lelo; his grandchildren, Brittany Bostwick (Christopher), Brandon Zwingman, Rylee Wobio, Cooper Wobio, Brett Wobio, Chase Wobio; and his great grandchild (on the way), Paislee Bostwick. He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen M. Lelo; father, Herbert B. Lelo; brother, Jack Lelo; aunts, Onie Sawatski, Eleanor Bergstrom; and grandson, Nicholas Wobio.
Herb was born on November 3rd, 1942 in Saginaw, MI, to parents Helen Lelo and Herbert Lelo. He graduated from Frankenmuth High School, served in the Navy from 1961 – 1966 and worked at General Motors until retirement after 25 years of service. Herb was a social, active man with memberships at the American Legion Post #439, VFW, Eagles Club, Moose and Pulaski Hall. He had a passion for hunting, fishing and golfing and spent as much time as possible with family at his favorite spot, his cabin on George Lake in Lupton, MI. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, fun, and hard-working man and often called him "One More Job Herb". He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, stepdad, grandfather and friend.
A luncheon celebration of his life and his birthday is scheduled for Saturday, November 3rd from 1:00pm – 5:00pm at American Legion Post #439, 5190 Weiss St, Saginaw, MI 48603. There will be an American Legion Post #439 memorial at 2:00pm. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Herbert Lelo's life.
