Obituary of Diane Kay (Rohn) Bechtel

Diane Kay (Rohn) Bechtel, age 70, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2018 in Midland, Michigan. She was born August 21, 1948 to the late Arthur Wilhelm and Ester Minnie Martha (Roggow) Rohn in Merrill, Michigan. She attended Bay City Central High School. Following school, she worked at the Agriculture Stabilization Conservation Service and as a Controller for the Midland Holiday Inn for 31 years then 3i Supply Company for 16 years. She also served several years on the Board of Directors for Members First Credit Union. She married her husband Gene Bechtel on December 11, 1965. She enjoyed spending time with family, camping, motorcycle trips and reading books. Diane is survived by her husband Gene; children, Tamara Laughlin of Baytown, TX, William (Gina) Bechtel of Midland, and Susan (Robert) Gates of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Harley and Dallas Laughlin, Tera and William Bechtel II, Kyle and Jenna Gates; five great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Irene Rohn; brother, Albert (Arlene) Rohn of Hemlock; sister, Carolyn Sutton of Midland; several nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her brother Arthur Rohn, infant brother Duane Rohn, brother-in-law Ernest Sutton, grandson John Laughlin and nephew Tom Rohn. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 15, 2018 at St Paul Lutheran Church in Sanford with Pastor Samuel Reith officiating.
