Obituary of Claudia May Briggs

On Wednesday, December 12, 2018, Claudia May Briggs of Vassar passed away at the age of 59. Claudia was born September 26, 1959 to Edward Elmer and Genevieve "Jenny" Mathews. She graduated from Vassar High School in 1977. She took pleasure in her work at Frtiz's of Richville and Central Shop Rite of Vassar, spending many years of service at both. Through her occupations, her compassion and admiration for all people shined through and spread across every aspect of her work. Claudia enjoyed camping and traveling throughout Michigan during the summers. She was an avid lover of music and never turned down the chance to sing and dance. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 31 years, Clark "Tom" Briggs; daughter, Tiffany; mother, Genevieve Mathews; brother, Tim Mathews; sisters, Patricia Ward, Lori (Leland) Audinet, Henrietta Young, and Gail Mathews; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends that will forever remember Claudia's infectious smile. She was preceded in death by her father, Edward Mathews; brothers, Edward, John and Lawrence Mathews; sister, Evelynn Knight; and daughter, Nicole Briggs. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Millington Community Center.
