Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" D. Stuart
Stuart, Gerald "Jerry" D.
Saginaw, MI
Gerald "Jerry" age 82, passed away at 8:55 A.M. on Saturday, February 2¸ 2019 from complications after a multi-year battle with Parkinson's. Jerry was born March 25, 1936.
Jerry was a Barber in Saginaw for 55 years until he was forced to hang up his shears due to his health. He was voted Saginaw's Best Barber in 2001. The highlight of his career was being able to give his son, Dan, and grandson, James, their first haircuts. He was loved by all his customers for his wit and wisdom about hunting, sports, politics and his stupendous sense of humor. You could consider Jerry's Barber Shop to be the social gathering spot in town.
By far, the most humbling and sweet part of Jerry's life was his family. His cup runneth over in this category. Jerry and Barb were an adorable couple and had many fun-filled adventures throughout the years. They traveled, collected antiques, and often-times could be seen on a midsummer's night riding their tandem bicycle to go pick up another bottle of Cold Duck. Fishing in Canada with his son, doting over Christmas lights with his daughter, doing cannonballs into a kiddie pool in the backyard with his grandson, and taking the family dogs, Sassy and Stu-e, on walks were just a snippet of his world. He soaked up every moment of life. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Barbara Stuart; son, Gerald D. "Dan" Stuart, Jr. (Julie) of Bellingham, WA; daughter, Stacy Mushtare (Steve) of South Glens Falls, NY; grandson, James DeFrancesco of South Glens Falls, NY; sisters-in-law, Irene Stuart and Sandy Stuart; and several nieces and nephews. In honor of Jerry's wishes, no services are planned. To sign online guestbook, visit www.cremationsocietymidmi.com All sympathy store items must be sent directly to the family home.
