Obituary of Ralph B. Hinderleider

Ralph B Hinderleider, age 90, of Alma, Michigan passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 at Masonic Pathways in Alma, MI. Ralph was born in Alma, February 4, 1929 to Frank and Margery (Hicks) Hinderleider. As a young man in Alma he was a Boy Scout, and was awarded an Eagle Scout. Later he was awarded the Silver Beaver. He graduated from Alma High School and Alma College. He married Audrey Gail Stein in 1954. He graduated from University of Detroit Dental School and was commissioned as an officer into the United States Air Force. He served in Newfoundland, Canada for six years before returning to Alma to open his dental office. His wife, Audrey, was his dental hygienist for many years. After selling the practice, Ralph continued practicing dentistry at the Masonic Home for several years before officially retiring. Ralph enjoyed traveling and his love of the outdoors was boundless. Even after retirement, he and Audrey continued to canoe and enjoyed spending time at their summer camp on the Manastee River. Ralph was an amazing woodworker and his home was filled with his creations. Ralph was a lifelong Mason and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Alma. Surviving Ralph are his son, Mark (Elizabeth) Hinderleider of Jamestown NY; his daughter, Lisa England of Grand Rapids; his grandsons, Craig (Nicole), Kent and Neil Hinderleider of Jamestown, NY; his granddaughters, Alexandria (John) England of Oak Harbor, Washington and Sarah England of Grand Rapids; and his great-grandson, Braxton Hinderleider of Jamestown NY. He is also survived by his brother, Frank (Norma) Hinderleider; his sister, Donna (John) Kushion; his brother-in-law, Dave (Marilyn) Stein; several nieces and nephews. Preceding Ralph in death were his beloved wife, Audrey, and his daughter, Mary Beth. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
