Obituary of Lawrence "Larry" A. Zagata

Zagata, Lawrence A. Midland, MI Formerly of Pinconning, Michigan Lawrence "Larry" A. Zagata passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his children on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Larry was born October 26, 1941 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Andrew and Ann (Weber) Zagata. On February 17, 1962, he married Joyce Zariski in Saginaw, Michigan. She preceded him in death. Larry served in the United States Army and was a dedicated employee of Stevens Van Lines until his retirement. Larry was an avid fisherman and enjoyed boating and fishing for perch on the Saginaw Bay. He liked spending time outdoors working in the yard or on small projects around the house. When he wasn't busy at home, he enjoyed walks at Pinconning Park and traveling to Northern Michigan with his beautiful wife of 56 years. Larry was proud of his family. Left to cherish his memory are his children, Cindy (Dave) Hagan of Birch Run, Larry (Kristy) Zagata of Kawkawlin, and Jennifer (Jay) Morast of Midland; grandchildren, David (Jen) Hagan, Joshua Hagan, Emily Zagata, Lauren Zagata, Joey Morast, Jesse Morast; great-grandchildren, Jack Hagan and Benjamin Hagan; sister, Carol (Zagata) Miller; many family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his step-mom Maude (Hackenberg) Zagata. To honor Larry's wishes, cremation has taken place. A joint committal service for Larry and Joyce will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 3, 2019 at St. Andrews Cemetery, 381 St. Andrews Rd., Saginaw, Michigan.
