Obituary of Suzanne Kay DeCorte McLean

Suzanne Kay DeCorte McLean gained her Angel Wings on Sunday, March 24, 2019, surrounded by a circle of beloved family and friends. She was born to Merton and Irene DeCorte on April 20, 1946 in Saginaw, Michigan. She remained in Saginaw County most of her life, surrounding herself with a circle of close friends and adopted family members, whom she held dear to her heart. She married Donald Albert McLean in 1963, raising two daughters while enjoying many road trips together. In 1978, she moved to Merrill, and became the T-shirt Lady, traveling for over 30 years, selling smiles and making many good friends along the way. She loved going to concerts, Bingo, Casino trips, or staying home and playing a game of cards or Boggle. She was an avid reader of the Saginaw News, always looking for her name in the Obits and always happy it wasn't there. She adored her kitties and wild birds, and was the Chipmunk whisperer. Surviving are her two daughters; Don (Cherie) Bell of Evart, and Shelly McLean and Fiancé of Bradley Dowker of Midland; granddaughter, Kara McLean, and her great-granddaughters, Aria, Milah and Jezelia. Also surviving are a sister and two brothers, Paul (Ranee) Koepke of Texas; Dennis DeCorte, Panama and Martin DeCorte of Saginaw; many, nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, of whom she was very proud; and a special sister in law, Barbara DeCorte of Florida. She will be dearly missed by special friends, Pamela Baker, Carol Kettlewell, Wendy Sny, Debi Martinez, Carolyn Davy, Robin Wainright, Linda Ellis, Janet Skulley and Penny Strong. She was predeceased by her parents, husband and granddaughter Skylar. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 11, 2019 from 12 Noon – 4 PM at the Clubhouse Room at Apple Mountain Resort , Freeland Michigan.
