Obituary of Ruth Ann Whaley

Whaley, Ruth Ann Vassar, Michigan Mrs. Ruth Ann Whaley, age 78, passed away early Sunday morning, March 24, 2019. Ruth Ann was born in Vassar, MI on March 9, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Amelia (Meinecke) Perry. On September 26, 1958, Ruth Ann married Ralph Whaley, together they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Ruth Ann attended a Tuesday knitting group comprised of her sisters, and a few close neighbors. Saturday mornings her family would meet for Coffee Break, both days were a long standing tradition in her life. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed her flower gardens, and had a tremendous sense of humor. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Vassar. Ruth Ann leaves her husband, Ralph, and daughter, Melissa (Whaley) Burkhardt of Millington. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren: Kevin Whaley, Megan Burkhardt, Dr. Andria (Joseph) St. Clair, Michael Tebedo, and Brent (Meghan) Tebedo, 3 great grandchildren, Ian Burkhardt-Nagy, Geoffrey Burkhardt-Nagy, and Logan Whaley, sisters, Delores (Raymond) Kennard, Donna (the late Jim) Wilson, Mary Lou (Bill) Levis, brothers, Howard (Dawn) Perry, Randy (Lori) Perry, and daughter in law, Diane (Kischnick-Whaley) Tebedo, many loved nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Penny also survive. She was preceded in death by son, Carl Whaley. The family has honored Ruth Ann's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no memorial service will be held.
