Obituary of Louis Allen McKellar

Louis Allen McKellar, age 63, of Lupton passed away on April 19, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. His family made sure that his final moments were filled with comfort and unconditional love. He was born in Port Huron on September 10, 1955 to Louis Glenn and Sharlie McKellar, the third of seven children. On October 29, 1977, he married Christine Buck and together, they raised Louis Adam and Eric Allen, who blessed them with four grandchildren. Louis enjoyed several occupations including logging, horseshoeing, and operating Great Lakes Logger's Supply in Lupton. He was also active in his community, and served as the Rose Township supervisor for 22 years. Louis was an expert card player who enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, morel mushroom picking, driving his side-by-side, gardening, and birdwatching. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with Chris and their family. Louis will be remembered for his sense of humor and positive attitude, even in the face of adversity. His absence leaves a hole in the hearts of all who loved him. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Chris; sons, Louis and Eric (Tabitha) of Lupton; beloved grandchildren, Nathan, Samantha, Rebeca, and Kaitlynn; father, Louis McKellar of Rose City; brothers, Gary (Tami) and David (Jenny) of Rose City, Bill (Terry) of Vestaburg, and Jess (Sherry) of Willow, Alaska; sisters, Robin (Tom) O'Farrell and Cindy (Ken) Cerveny of Rose City; aunts and uncles, Jack and Renee McKellar and Mary Ann McKellar of Rose City, and Don and Connie Muir of Port Huron; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Louis was preceded in death by his mother, Sharlie. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, April 26, 2019 at the Rose Township Hall in Lupton.
