Joseph Brevard

Obituary of Joseph Alan Brevard

Brevard, Joseph Alan Flint, MI Joseph Alan Brevard died Friday, May 31, 2019 at Hurley Hospital as a result of a motorcycle accident. Joe was born August 6, 1989 in Flint Michigan to proud parents Marsha and Jeff Brevard. He was active in Boy Scouts of America and served as a camp counselor in the summer at Camp Tapico, while working towards his Eagle Scout. He graduated from Durand High School in 2007, having participated in football, marching band, and many other activities. He was also active with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters program. He was fondly called "Joe Joe" by many family members. He was always the funniest person in the room, always a light, never in a bad mood; 10/10 smiling his perfect, contagious smile; always said "I Love You"; a momma's boy, a lover, a brother, a best friend, a hard worker; an Airman, an adventurous soul, a rebel, a goofball, and an incredibly clever smart-ass… the life of family gatherings. If you were around him, your cheeks would definitely hurt from laughing. He loved to travel, catching the "travel bug" from Grandma and Grandpa Bausick and their travels with Tyler, Blake and Tiffany. He was such a significant part of the fabric of so many lives, in so many places; from growing up, volunteering, working, to the time spent serving his country. In 2015 he joined the military, becoming a member of the United States Air National Guard. He was deployed to the Middle East for two 6 month tours. He was a Senior Airman and was just beginning his career as a Military Technician with Civil Engineering Department at Selfrige Air National Guard Base in Harrison Township Michigan. He is survived by his mother Marsha (Mark) White; brothers, Tyler and Zachery Brevard; step-sister, Katrina White; grandparents, Bob Bausick & Donna and Ken Olsen; very special aunts and uncles, Kimmie Bausick, Bob (Heather) Bausick, Dana (Scott) Peter, and Ray (Tina) Bausick. Also surviving are a core group of special friends - both civilian and military, Devon, Eric, Ryan, Steven, Pat and cousin Jason; special cousins that he grew up with, Blake, Tiffany, Lindsay, Michelle, Courtney, and many more; his military family from 127th Civil Engineering Squadron; his extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to list. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Peggy Brevard and Michelle Bausick and his father, Jeffrey Brevard.
