Obituary of Ward O. Holton
Ward O. Holton passed away Monday, May 27, 2019, at Hospice House of Owosso, 2 days short of his 96th birthday. Ward was born May 29, 1923, in Merrill, MI to the late Delbert and Nellie (Wireman) Holton. Ward worked at GM and retired from Michigan Milk, though he was a farmer foremost. On June 30, 1945, Ward married Iva Romesburg, they loved their family and going out to eat.
Ward is survived by his wife of almost 74 years, Iva Holton; children, Sandra (Douglas) Conklin, Lela (Chuck) Foytik, Rickey (Charlene) Holton, Cheryl (Russell) Holton, Debra (Scott) Williams, Rochelle (Eric) Bishop, & Timothy Holton; 30 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; brother, Millard (Phyllis) Holton; sister-in-law, Fran Nethaway; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 brothers and sisters.
A memorial celebration will be held on Sunday June 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Church of Ovid. A special thank you to Owosso Hospice House for all of the wonderful care provided, and a special thanks to Stephanie and Sue.
