Jean Glann

Obituary of Jean Marie Glann

Jean Marie Glann, age 72, passed away July 2, 2019 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on October 31, 1946 to the late Jerome and Anna Mae Houthoofd, in Bay City, Michigan. Jean was employed at PNC Bank for 32 years, retiring in January 2013. Jean enjoyed tending to her flowers, gardening, and watching Professional Bull Riding, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and close friends. Jean took great pride in being a grandmother. Her granddaughters, Morgan and Natalie held a special place in her heart and Jean was their biggest cheerleader. She could be found attending any event that her granddaughters were involved in such as band performances, piano recitals, horse shows, gymnastics competitions, basketball games, and taking them on their annual summer vacation to Mackinaw City. Jean was always there to help and support people in need. She was a selfless and generous soul, and will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved her. Jean is survived by her daughter, Gia Glann; son, Kyle (Sarah) Glann; granddaughters, Morgan Glann and Natalie Glann; brothers, Jerome (Carolyn) Houthoofd and Gary (Michelle) Houthoofd; many nieces nephews, and cousins. Per Jean's wishes cremation is taking place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to The Bailee Mantei Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
