Dennis Reid

Obituary of Dennis W. Reid

Dennis W. Reid, age 70, of Bay City, our loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully at Brian's House on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Dennis was born in Bay City on August 28, 1949, the eldest son of the late Kenneth and Elsie (Coppinger) Reid. Dennis proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force for eight years during the Vietnam Era, including tours in Japan and Turkey. Dennis worked at Prestolite of Bay City for many years and retired from Walmart after more than two decades of employment. Dennis spent much of his life serving others, dedicating years as a volunteer firefighter and a Deputy Reserve for the Bay County Sheriff's Department. Dennis loved spending time with his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He also enjoyed bonfires, fishing, bowling and playing bingo. Dennis will be remembered most for his goofy sense of humor and ability bring smiles and laughs to an entire room. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Linda Reid; daughters, Amy (Joe) Reiss and Amanda (Josh) Galloner; step-children, Sheryl (Roger) Johnson, Guy (Susan) Burch and Chris Burch; grandchildren, Joey and Andrew Reiss, Olivia and Caitlin Galloner, Angelia and Megan Lafromboise, Lauren Johnson, Joellen Lily and Zack Burch; as well as four great-grandchildren. Dennis is also survived by his siblings, Frank Reid, David (Craig) Reid-Hunter, Pat Duford and Kathy Reid-Lamb; many nieces and nephews; and good friend, Jim Bellor. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters; Terry Reid, Lori Migut and Delann Walker; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2019, at 2 pm at the Bangor Township Hall. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to wishes of the family.
