Obituary of Bertha M. Hoseclaw
Bertha Marian Hoseclaw of Cass City, MI passed away October 4, 2019 following an illness. She was born November 8, 1936 to the late Lucille and Felix Samel.
Bertha worked many jobs throughout her lifetime from housekeeping to factory work. She raised a family and in her spare time had a love for reading, puzzle books, and word finds. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and writing down recipes that she wanted to try. She enjoyed going to estate sales, garage sales, and yard sales picking up what she wanted for herself or something she knew someone could use. She enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting, and making afghans for her family and friends. She had a gift for sewing and quilting, and made many quilts for her family and others, and they are treasures to all who have them.
Bertha was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Hoseclaw; and three brothers, Donald, Richard, and Gorden Samel.
She is survived by two brothers, Clarence (Diane) Samel of Imlay City, MI, James (Annette) Samel of Millersburg, MI; one sister, Madeline Revis of Wytheville,VA; four sons, Darres Hoseclaw of Lancaster, KY, Brian Hoseclaw of Kingston, MI, Keith Hoseclaw of Richmond, KY, Shannon (Linda) Hoseclaw of Sterling Heights, MI; two daughters, Peggy (Mike) May of Nancy, KY and Cheryl (Lyle) Thick of Deford, MI. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jennifer (Travis) Rulason of Milford, MI, Gary Michael Zienert of Houstonville, KY, Sarah (Tom) Bazinet of White Lake, MI, Shane (Jenny) Zienert of Hillsdale, MI, Jerrid (Lexi) May of Somerset, KY, Christopher Sr. (Jammie) Hoseclaw of Kingston, MI, Matthew (Kim) Hoseclaw of Kingston, MI, Clinton Hoseclaw of Marlette, MI, Jody Hoseclaw of Marlette, MI, Madyson Hoseclaw of Houstonville, KY, Cheyenne Hoseclaw of Houstonville, KY, Savannah Hoseclaw of Houstonville, KY, Eric (Terra) Thick of Cass City, MI, Reagan (Kyle) Becker of Deckerville, MI, Katy Foster of Sterling Heights, MI; great-grandchildren, Madison, Claire, Ian, Katelyn, Dillon, Ashton, Christopher Jr., Shelby, Luke, Racheal, Christopher, Ayden, Sawyer, Madelyn, Blake, Olivia, Emma, Brooklyn, Clayton and Bristol.
