Beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Thomas Meisel passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home on October 17, 2019. Tom was born in Cadillac, Michigan to the late Virgil and Pauline (Alberts) Meisel.
Tom attended Bay City Central High School, Western Michigan University, and the University of Michigan Dental School. He served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps for three years. Tom practiced dentistry for over 40 years in the Allen Medical Building where he provided outstanding care to his patients.
Tom swam competitively at Central High School, Western Michigan University, and as part of the U.S. Masters as an adult. He also loved to play tennis, run, and cross-country ski. He was an avid U of M football fan. Other hobbies included playing Euchre and backgammon with his family and friends, as well as attending his grandchildren's many activities.
Tom married his beloved wife, Jeannine (Ekstrom) on September 20, 1969, and they were fortunate to recently celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Tom is survived by his wife Jeannine; his daughter, Lisa (David) White; his son, Marc (Paul Corbett) Meisel; his son, Matthew (Erica) Meisel; grandchildren, Fiona and Liam; his nephew, Adam Hammond; several cousins; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister Karen (Meisel) Hammond.
Honoring Tom's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
