Obituary of Judith "Judy" Maidment

Judith "Judy" Marie (Hancock) Maidment was born January 30, 1943 in Detroit Michigan to the late James and Garnett (Smiley) Hancock. Judy was a beloved wife, mother and friend. She had many interests in life and was loved by many people. She married her husband Doug and they shared 59 wonderful years together. She was lovingly cared for by her husband for the past 30 months while she was in hospice care. She is survived by her loving husband, Douglas Sr.; daughters, Tamara Karna and Tracy Mapes; grandchildren, James (Karna and Jennifer Frey; three great-grandchildren, Keelie, Kennedy and Kella. She was predeceased by her father James; mother, Garnett Jernigan; brothers, James and Danny (Hancock; and son, Douglas Jr.; and granddaughter, Jessica Valko. At her request, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held. A Celebration of Life may be announced at a later time.
