Obituary of Larry F. Hecht

Larry F. Hecht April 11, 1944 – November 17, 2019 75 years of age Vassar, Michigan Larry F. Hecht, age 75 years, of Vassar, passed peacefully to his heavenly home, Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Covenant hospital with family at his side. He was born April 11, 1944 in Saginaw to the late Oscar and Helen (Schrader) Hecht. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Larry graduated from Vassar High School in 1962 and served in the U.S. Army reserves for five years. He worked in skill trades and as a machine operator at both Dixie Cut Tool and Die in Bridgeport and Means Industries in Vassar until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, woodworking and loved to play cards with family. Larry married Bethany Sevener Tewksbury in 2004 and she survives him. Larry leaves two daughters to cherish his memory, Julie (Stephen) Sipes of Frankenmuth and Lisa Haines of Royal Oak, Bethany's children; Tracey (Bill) Spencer of Brown City and Michael (Catina) Tewksbury of Batesville, Arkansas. Larry's pride and joy were his three grandchildren; Jillian and Makenzie Sipes, and Scott Haines. Also surviving Larry, two sisters; Arlene (Willie) Wirth of Vassar, Sally (Gary) Seney of Marquette, and brothers; Ray (Sandy) Hecht, Barbeau, Fred (Denise) Hecht of Frankenmuth, sister in-law Ann Hecht of Vassar and many very special nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kaylee Sipes, brothers; Edward and Herbert Hecht, Bethany's son, Daniel Tewksbury and stepfather, Joseph Kreil. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 7, at 11:00 a.m., at Grace Lutheran Church located at 885 Saginaw St., Vassar. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m., until the time of service. IN LIEU of FLOWERS, Memorials may be made to the family or Grace Lutheran Church.
