Obituary of Kurt R. Larson

Larson, Kurt Richard Bay City, Michigan Kurt Richard Larson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 21, 2019, following a 3 year battle with ALS. Kurt was born in Grand Haven, MI to the late Robert N. and Elizabeth S. (Stoutenburg) Larson on October 8, 1941. He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children; Kathryn (Tim) Kirby of AR, Karyn Larson of MD, Laura (Eric) Ferry of ND, Kurt R. (Sara) Larson II of UT; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild; his sisters, Roberta (Tim Thomas) Keenan, Rebecca (Duane) Gerren, and Lisa Larson. Kurt grew up in Bay City, MI. He graduated from Handy High School in 1959. He was a United States Marine during the early days of Viet Nam. He became an airborne meteorologist and served honorably from 1961 through 1964. Kurt taught at Central Michigan University, Northwood Institute, Delta College, Bay Arenac Skill Center and spent the last 15 years of his teaching career with the Bay City Public Schools, teaching at Handy, Central, and finishing his career at Western High School. In addition to his 30 years of teaching, he owned and operated Larson Consultant Service in Bay City, doing computer, accounting and income tax work for over 30 years. A Memorial Service is being held at the Bay City Evangelical Free Church, 604 S. Woodbridge St., Bay City, MI on Wednesday, November 27th, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon following. Memorials may be made to The Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots or Bay City Evangelical Free Church.
