Penny was one of my top 3 college students across my 43 years of teaching music. She was diligent, focused, and yet had a certain grace about her. She had musical talent, but her hard work and willingness to study and find ways to improve and increase her skills was a super example to other students. She was a most attentive student in every class of mine. Whatever she put her hand to, she always did her best. Eventually, as she got to know our family, we became great friends. She introduced our kids (including Ben) to some a cappella music that spurred him on to a love for singing and writing in the style. She had a heart for people, a great sense of humor, and was a generous lady. My family remembers her coming to our church and playing with our brass groups. We are very sorrowful she is gone, and extend our deepest sympathies to her family. At the same time, we are glad she is with the Lord, and out of all pain and suffering.
Most sincerely,
Dr. Dana and Gloria Everson
