Obituary of Andrew F. Korpal

Mr. Andrew “Andy” Korpal Jr., age 82, passed away suddenly on January 3, 2020. Andrew was born in Bay City on July 9,1937 to Andrew and Florence (Przybylski) Korpal Sr. Andy was a 1956 graduate of Central High School in Bay City. Andy started as a Patternmaker at Chevrolet-Saginaw Grey Iron Foundry Division in 1956, was promoted to the position of a foreman in 1971, and retired after 35 years of employment with the Central Foundry Division of General Motors Corporation. Andrew married Janet Young on April 26, 1958 in Bay City and they were married for nearly 62 years. Andy enjoyed woodworking, reading and watching baseball mainly the Detroit Tigers. What he loved most of all, was being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. Mr. Korpal is survived by his wife Janet; his 4 daughters, Jani (Andy) Malowinski of Bay City, Denise Korpal of Bay City, Andrea and Fiancé Rick Roenicke of Bay City, and Nicholette Korpal of Bay City. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Stephen (Heidi) Hockman of Bay City, Theodore Hockman of Grand Rapids, Kristina (Tony) Korpal-Zins of Saginaw, and Jeremy (Megan) Korpal-Zins of Midland; 4 great-grandchildren, Alexandrea, Victoria, Chase and Olivia; sister, Patricia (Stan) Krzewinski of Bay City; brother, Jerry Korpal of AuGres, Thomas (Mary) Korpal of Arizona, Timothy (Diane) Korpal of Bay City; and many nieces and nephews.
