Obituary of Rodolfo "Rudy" Torres
Rodolfo "Rudy" Torres, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on February 20, 2020, at the age of 77. He was born on January 5, 1943, to the late Jose and Trinidad Torres in Crystal City, Texas. Rodolfo married Evangelina Garza, August 26, 1961, and they celebrated 60 years of marriage. Rodolfo worked as a welder at both the Nodular Iron Plant and Defoe Shipbuilding Company. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed reading, swimming, traveling, and studying the Native American Culture.
Surviving besides his wife Evangelina Torrez, are his children, Rudolph Torrez Jr., (Juanita Rodarte), Gina (Tony) Campbell, Juan (Bonnie) Torrez, Jamie (Jenny) Torrez, and Justin (Korina) Torrez; a very special granddaughter, Merissa Campbell; seven grandsons, Anthony, Michael (Tiffany), Matthew, Tony Jr., Daniel (Kelsey), Casey and Nicholas; six great-grandchildren, Carson, Preston, Contessa, Emmanuel, Gracie, and Cynthia. Also surviving are his siblings, Florinda Causie, Jose (Stella) Torrez, Yolanda Grunwell, Gloria Torrez, Henry (Diane) Torrez, Rudy (Shelly) Rivera; many nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and friends. He was predeceased by a special aunt, Julia Torrez.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, March 6, 2020 at St Francis Of Assisi Church (St. Anthony's), 3680 S. Washington Road, Saginaw MI. The family will receive friends at church prior to the service from 10 AM – 11 AM, with a luncheon to follow. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider memorial contributions to St. Francis of Assisi Church.
