Obituary of Vern E. Green

Green, Vern E. West Branch, Michigan Vern, age 87, passed away on Friday March 6, 2020 in his home with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born on February 11, 1933 to the late Frank and Carrie (Meddaugh) Green in West Branch at the same home he passed away in. He was a current member of St. Joseph Parish, Knights of Columbus, and past member of Pioneer Power Tractor Club and Rods and Relics. He enjoyed: woodworking in his workshop, his wild animals and his pets over the years, feeding the birds, hunting, farming, his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. Over the years he had numerous jobs, and owned Vern' Mobile Home Repair and Solid Flue Chimney Relining and farmed: having raised cows, buffalo and angora goats. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Delores (Foote) Green, their children Leslie Green of Bell, Fla, Yvonne (Robert) Mahl of West Branch, Karen Green of West Branch, Kim Green of Alabama, Wanda (Van) Webb of Vero Beach Fla, Byron (Michelle) Green of West Branch, Scott (Lori Jeffery) Green of Trenton, and Carol Curtis of Grand Rapids. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, sisters; RoseMarie (Roger) Detzler of Bay City, Mary Ann (Roy) Benjamin of Bay City, Geraldine (John) Klan of West Branch, Joan (Glen) Curtis of West Branch and brother Churm (Lorraine) Illig of West Branch. He is predeceased by his son: Andrew Green, brothers Sonny Green, Tyrus Green, Walter Illig, Kenneth Illig and Jerome Illig, sisters: Virginia Schafer, Beatrice Kartes, Melvia Goldy, Dolores Wangler and Alice Bartels, and in laws Andrew and Leola Foote. A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday March 26, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church , 935 West Houghton Avenue, West Branch, Michigan 48661. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
