Obituary of James Paul Braid

James Paul Braid, age 70 passed away at his home March 11, 2020. He was born September 27, 1949 in Wyandotte, MI to the late Dolores (Lowndes) and David Braid. He moved from Wyandotte to Houghton lake in the mid-60s. Jim had many friends, ran his own business "Jim Braid Sand and Gravel", and left his mark on many properties in the area. He always had dogs and they often accompanied him on the job. Jim was Past Master of Houghton Lake Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his siblings, John Braid, Theodore, Al., Rea Corcoran (David) Saginaw, William Buck Braid of Houghton Lake; a niece, Jillian Braid (Erik Greene) of Grand Rapids; two nephews, Andy Corcoran (Stacy Heath) of Saginaw, Chris Corcoran (Beth), of Lansing; and stepson, Nick Poindexter of Houghton Lake. He was predeceased by his sister, Carol Anne Ward, and his grandmother, Rea Lowndes. The family would like to thank the staff from Munson Hospice and his special caregivers, Brian Thomas and Claire Lovegrove, for the support and care they provided Jim in his last days. Cremation has taken place and in lieu of a public service, the family asks that you join us in remembering Jim as the generous and happy person he was.
