Obituary of John Wayne King
John Wayne King, age 64 of St. Charles, passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday March 24, 2020 after a long battle with liver cancer. John was born on March 18, 1956 to Robert Wilfred King and Marion Henrietta Hudson in Algonac Michigan.
He married Debra Lynn Boyd on January 24, 1987 in Owosso and they celebrated over 40 years of life together. John spent his life's journey as an avid outdoorsman trapping, hunting, fishing and teaching his children the love of the outdoors. John loved running coon hounds especially his AKC grand night champion plot hound Queen with the Hall Boy's, he also loved going camping and traveling spending time catching monster salmon during the yearly run.
Many summers were spent going to antique shows all over the state buying and selling antiques, John was a very astute appraiser of antiques and loved finding that one unique piece to buy and sell. John also ran a successful porta potty business, worked as a welder and landscaper. Almost nothing compared to his ability at the poker table John traveled the country with some of his best friends and two sons playing some of the highest stakes and big tournaments even cashing in a WSOP event. John will always be remembered for the love and support he had for his children and grandchildren, Layla Mae, Jozie, Rayna, Silas and Alivia. John was very grateful to have spent time with his friends Bill & Corina Muzzy along with Cindi & Todd Woods and Rick & Roberta Taylor throughout his entire life.
John is survived by his wife Debra; their three children, John Wayne King II, Michael (Angela) King, Katy Lawrence (King); his five grandchildren, Layla Mae Lawrence, Jozie Rae Lawrence, Rayna Jae Lawrence, Silas Michael King and Alivia Harper King. Also surviving are brothers, Kevin (Cheri) King, Jamie (Tammy) King; sister, Robyn King; sister- in-law, Donna King; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Henrietta and Robert, grandparents Harry and Madeline Hudson, brothers; Gary King and Bob King and Sister Rose King, in-laws Charlene Boyd, Jarlene Boyd, Mary Sue Dummond, Mancell Boyd Jr. and Mary Boyd. His dogs, Curly, Lily and Queen, Thank you.
A special thank you to John's family Doctor Dr. David Huff and his excellent staff, Dr. Asad Mehboob, Covenant Hospice visiting nurses' association and The Henry Ford Transplant team of doctors and nurses that tirelessly provided so much support and care during this difficult time. Thank you to Health Source Jill Hogenson and Dr. Steve and a special thanks to our Nurse Shawn "Sarg" as she was amazing and has a heart of gold, and to all the family and friends who graced John's life he was blessed to have each and every one of you around him.
